SJS THERAPY
I am Sarah Jane, offering arts psychotherapy and counsellIng.
I have an integrative approach to therapy, meaning that I am able to draw on a number of different counselling and psychotherapeutic theories, models, and techniques, including psychodynamic, humanistic, and behavioural, allowing me to adapt my therapeutic style to suit your needs.
Sometimes words are not enough to express how you are feeling, and if you would like to try a more creative approach, I am also able to bring an expressive dimension through image into our sessions to support change and wellbeing.
I have therapy spaces in Flimwell, Sevenoaks, and Tonbridge so if you feel ready to take a step towards healing change, please contact me for an initial chat, to arrange an assessment, or for a 1-1 meeting.
TESTIMONIALS
I am incredibly grateful for the positive impact Sarah Jane has had on my daughter's life. Since starting art therapy sessions with Sarah Jane, my daughter has made good progress in managing her social anxiety. Sarah Jane worked hard over the sessions to connect with my daughter and make her feel safe and able to share details and issues that are important to her.
It has been good to see my daughter become more self-assured and open to engaging with others, and I thank Sarah Jane for taking the time to learn what is important to my daughter and get beneath some of her issues in a compassionate and understanding way.
I would highly recommend Sarah Jane as an art therapist. She has provided my daughter with some tools and techniques for managing her social anxiety and also provided her with an alternative lens on what she is experiencing.
This was the best experience I’ve had in therapy and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sarah Jane to friends. The visual aspect of the therapy was very useful, as it gave me an entry-point into the conversation that felt really authentic. I noticed that my responses were more honest (and therefore more productive) because I was expressing my thoughts visually, rather than trying to rush into a verbal answer to a question or prompt. I completely trusted Sarah Jane’s ability to guide the conversation, tapping into particular areas that have given me very valuable insights on myself. I’ve come away with real, tangible tools I can use moving forward.
